Masa Iida is a Japanese contemporary abstract watercolour artist based in London.
Since beginning his artistic practice in 2015, he has explored various mediums including acrylic and gouache, eventually discovering watercolour as the medium most
aligned with his philosophy of balancing human intention and the forces of nature.
His paintings are created through a dialogue between brushstroke, water, pigment, and silence — embracing both control and surrender.
Born in Kawasaki and raised in Ebina, Japan, Masa was deeply influenced by Yokohama through his father, who was born and raised in the city. The cultural harmony
between Japan and the West found in Yokohama continues to shape his artistic vision.
In 2022, Masa held his first solo exhibition at The Gallery L’embrasser in Paris, where twelve works were acquired by international collectors.
